UAE - Quadra to Jebel Hafeet Desert Bikepacking Tour

This is a short 2 day desert bike-packing tour of around 160 km for anyone interested in a cycling adventure through the desert. The route starts outside Dubai at the well-known Quadra Bike track Last Exit Quadra. The route is not all desert but includes a mixture of bike tracks, desert sand, gravel, and quiet roads. There is enough desert that you will need to ensure you are well prepared with enough water and supplies. A gravel or mountain bike is recommended with at least 50mm or 2.0 width tires but even wider would be better. There will still be areas where you have to push the bike in soft sand. Ideally, this route can be done in the winter months when it is not as hot. Having the correct tire pressure and adjusting and experimenting with different pressures is important. With less air in the tires you can cycle a lot easier in the sand. Many sections are a mixture of gravel and sand where you will continuously alternate between cycling and pushing the bike through the sand. The tour could also be done in three days. The route was very quiet and a fabulous experience. I saw no other cyclists en route and I doubt anybody has previously cycled this route. I carried 8 liters of water and with resupply, I never used the 5 liters of water I carried on the front forks. I did this route on my own but ideally, it would be good to do as a pair or with a group
