Taff Trail

Having last been in a Youth Hostel 53 years ago, I was keen to rekindle my love of this institution. So I cycled to Bridgend, caught the train to Abergavenny and then continued the cycling along the Brecon & Monmouthshire Canal to Talybont on Usk and then on to Aber and the Youth Hostel. I was pleasantly surprised to see how much they had changed - my own private room with a double bed and shower & toilet next door so no traipsing down the corridor in the middle of the night - a bar, cooked breakfast and no morning chores! Refreshed I then completed the Taff Trail down to Cardiff bay before the short train journey back home! I'll definitely be using YHA again!
