Da Pavia a Viareggio sulla Via Francigena

I decided to ride on the Francigena Road, from my homecity to San Miniato. The last day of the tour I left the road to fall back to Viareggio, crossing Pisa. You'll see two segment per day, here in this collection. The Road is well signed, but in some segment it's inevitably necessary to have a map to follow. Of course You can download mine here and feel free to modify it following your taste. Today doesn't exist a "real" Francigena Road, due to the events in the centuries, like earthquakes, political reasons, dead woods, new cities and so on. Especially I have to notice that in many segments the path Road differs from the cycle lane. This doesn't mean it's less interesting, of course! I camped all the time, except for the first night. You can find many hostels, but pay attention in Berceto: they, in my opinion, try to cheat You with expensive rooms: it's something very sad, opposite to a "pilgrim intention". You, there, can camp in the camper area, where there's a small portion of grass. Just speak with the owner and You'll have the permission. Concerning the stamp, you can obtain them in many bar, shops and churches. Enjoy Your ride!
