The Alternative Ep. 1 - Alpe d'Huez

Every year, since nearly half a century, the climbing of Alpe d'Huez and its 21 switchbacks are highlighted during the Tour de France. It thrills the pro cyclists and gets the crowds going. With its 1121m of elevation gain, a 14.454 Kms length, an average slope of 7.9% and maximum climb rates at 14%, it became a myth, a real challenge for all cyclists. Amateurs from all over the world are drawn to it. They want to experience the pain of the effort, and the glorious feeling of overcoming such a beast once the top is reached. It’s been ridden by millions, it’s been seen countless of times, it’s gotten so famous that most people would get this weird feeling of knowing it perfectly. We wished to explore Alpe d’Huez a little bit differently with « The Alternative ».
