Highlights of the world by bike tour - Laguna Verde (Atacama region, Chile)

Ride from the coast of Chile through the Atacama region in a deep valley surrounded by 6,000 + meter volcanoes. Ride a mixture of asphalt and dirt surrounded by some of the tallest peaks the Andes has to offer, including the highest volcano in the world, Nevado ojos del salado at 6,879 meters. On the way you will pass through the Salar de Maricunga, Nevado Tres Cruces National Park and various Lagunas surrounded by Flamingos and Vicunas. Not for the faint hearted, with tough dirt roads, heaps of climbing and nowhere to resupply along the way. A hardened cycle tourists dream! Finish it off with a hike up Volcan San Francisco standing at over 6,000 meters. Enjoy :) To get back to Copiapo, (time depending) you could drop down to Fiambala and head back up over Paso Sico.
