When searching for Tours, you’ll now see how many people have gone on that Tour as well as its star rating. Just like the star ratings all over the web, these show how previous folk have rated the route, from one to five. Five stars is the best, just to be clear!

This rating system has always been going on behind the scenes – remember after recording a Tour you’re prompted to rate the route with stars? That’s part of the data that goes into

Plan bike rides more easily by using official routes

Route Planner

February 19, 2024

The route planner now uses official cycle routes and paths when your sport is set to ‘bike touring’. When there are official routes and paths near your start or end point, it’ll follow those if applicable, rather than choosing a more direct route. You’ll still get the direction and way points you want, but it’ll prioritize official cycle routes; this means you can be confident the route you’re on has been carefully created specifically for

We’ve been working hard to supercharge the elevation data in the route planner so you have a clearer, more accurate idea of what to expect when you’re out on your adventures. This means more accurate elevation figures as well as a more precise elevation profile chart, which depicts hills in finer detail so those short, punchy ones don’t get lost in the scale.
