Road Journey Around Rwanda 2021

Keen for the RaR adventure, but maybe not in the full route? Sign up for the Journey version instead. The 'side event' that finds the balance between ultra racing and bike touring. It gives participants the opportunity to take part to the Race Around Rwanda, without the need for gravel bikes or the fear of time limits. 575 to 645 km of wonder in the land of a thousand hills.The RaR Journey is not for the faint hearted though!!! As a non-race option, The Journey is designed for those that have a passion for adventure, pushing themselves and enjoying the company of other like minded cyclists!Participants will Journey a minimum of 575kms (see below for route options) of Rwanda taking in the Volcanoes to the North, Lake Kivu to the West and Nuwenge Forest to the South. In addition, during your Journey you will be able to cheer on those taking part in the Race.Although we encourage participants to set their own pace, whether individual or in group, and be self supported as much as possible, there are a number of well positioned checkpoints which will have basic showers and food available should you desire or need some recovery timeYour Journey will finish in Kigali with enough time to celebrate alongside the race participants at the finishers party!The proposed main Journey route is 100% paved and can be done on any road bike.More info: racearoundrwanda.com
